About Universal Pixels
Universal Pixels (UP) provides LED screens and video systems for live music, theatre, film and TV, and supplies kit to other rental companies. We work on everything from intimate theatre shows to stadium tours. Clients come back to us for how quickly we respond, how well we handle the logistics, and the quality of our kit and people.
We're a team of under 50, based in Tring with growing operations in the US. We became a certified B Corp in 2025 and we're a Real Living Wage employer. We're at an exciting point in our growth and this role is central to that.
The role
As Head of Commercial you'll lead our commercial performance: revenue, margin, pipeline and forecasting across all our markets. You'll lead the commercial team day to day, help our Commercial Director set and deliver the commercial strategy, and make sure everything we sell is profitable and deliverable.
What you'll be doing
Leading and developing a team of six account managers and sellers, with regular 1:1s, team meetings and performance reviews.
Setting and tracking annual revenue, margin and budget targets, including targets for each sector.
Owning the global sales pipeline and forecast, so the business can trust the numbers.
Watching margin and profitability closely, flagging risks early and helping the team price and structure deals well.
Working with Finance so client billing matches what was agreed and cashflow stays healthy.
Building strong relationships with key clients, and helping the team do the same.
Working with Marketing to turn reputation, case studies and campaigns into pipeline.
Working closely with Operations, Technical and Projects so that what we sell is practical to deliver.
What you'll bring
A track record of leading a sales or commercial team against targets, and evidence of what changed because of you.
Strong commercial and financial skills: forecasting, budgeting, pricing and margin management.
An understanding of rental or project-based economics. Experience in AV, live events, broadcast or production equipment is a real advantage.
The ability to lead specialists who know their own sectors deeply, and to add value to them rather than replace them.
Confidence with senior clients and stakeholders, and a reputation for building long-term relationships.
Comfort working in a growing SME: hands-on, organised, and keen to put good processes in place.
You don't need to tick every box. If you've led a commercial team and you're excited by what we do, we'd like to hear from you.
What we offer
25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
Vitality health insurance
Company pension, death in service and income protection
Company car salary sacrifice scheme and cycle scheme
Free onsite parking and free fair-use EV charging
Hybrid and flexible working where the role allows
A pet-friendly office
A B Corp business that takes its people and its environmental impact seriously
